  Cabins have had a fairly recent update and were way better than the 2.5 stars. I would say that if you want a place to chill, read, listen to the wind and rain and don't need the restaurant and spa that come with the higher end resorts it's a solid choice (those amenities are nearby anyway). Pool was out of commission as they are completely redoing the tiling and expect it will be great when done (it's big enough for a work out). I'm a bit of an exercise geek so if I added anything it would be a nice exercise room (in case you don't want to run in the rain). Really enjoyed our stay.

  CAMPER BEWARE. $60/ night rip off. This review is in relation tot he camping facilities. This is a tent city, 16-20 sites crammed in a back yard without a single toilet or water faucet within 100 yards. Yes it is on the beach, other than that, it is a dump. Sites are not cleaned, are super expensive, and peace is impossible to come by. If you are looking for a relaxing Pacific Rim experience check out Bella Pacific next door for less, Long Beach Golf Course (with camp ground) or Green Point. The 3 toilets which are provided are poorly equipped and filthy and the showers are barley useable. Mackenzie Beach Resort is an insult to the Canadian Pacific camping experience.

  The road getting to the hotel is a very rough but not the fault of the resort. The location just steps from the beach is awesome. Upon arriving, the lady at the desk was very personable and easy to get along with. The room we had, an ocean view, was nice and cozy. Besides a little dust in places, the room was in good clean condition. By far the best part is the beach just steps away and hearing the waves during the very quiet evening.
